REMOVE the old tile by cutting through the drywall next to the tile with a keyhole saw or a reciprocating saw and removing the old wall in chuncks. Take off the tub spout, shower value handle(s) and escutcheon plates. Use a flat pry bar to help you remove the tile and drywall. Important: With a keyhole saw, cut a few holes to check the location of pipes and wires before cutting full-tilt with a power saw.
